Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Piper was turned into the Montgomery County Animal Shelter as a stray, unable to use her back legs. A very generous clinic offered to foster her through rehab to help her regain strength and mobility.  They have her using the underwater treadmill, laser therapy, exercises, etc. They are continuing to provide a safe place for her to stay and get well again, until an adoptable family can be found.

While DROH is not facilitating the adoption of this sweet girl, we are using our resources to network her. If you are interested in learning about this pup, please email info@droh.org so we can connect you with the clinic fostering her, and you can discuss their adoption process.

Here is a description of Piper from the clinic:

"When we first got her she was very shy and unsure of her surroundings.  She is slowly coming out of her shell. The past couple days she has been playing with some toys and today she let out a playful bark. She is still a little scared when she is outside, but will now walk around some. Her rehab is coming along, and she is getting around pretty good. She will probably never be 100%. She still shakes some when she is being held. She has done very well in the kennel."

Update from Clinic:

"We are still doing rehab and she is doing great.   She has come out of her shell and has a great personality.  She loves to snuggle and rolls over for her belly to be rubbed."
