Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted. We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Augusta is a super-smart, super-sweet young female. She is very observant and learns new things at an amazing rate. She has joined the pace at her new foster home with such ease and quickly learned the routine. She is eager to please her foster family and is always watching to see what they would like best from her. What she likes best is belly rubs. Augusta loves to snuggle on the couch with her person and enjoys petting, ear scratching and cuddles. If the people at her foster home are busy, she will either hang out near their feet or settle down on her bed in the living room where she can alternate between snoozing and taking in all the action. Augusta has a playful side that she is slowly showing; and she will do great having another dog to play with or an older kid to teach her some games. Of course, she will also do well in a single person household. She is very adaptable. She does great in her crate overnight and when the foster family is gone from home. She is housetrained and hasn't had one accident indoors. She loves suppertime and treats, but will politely sit first if you remind her. Augusta has beautiful tan and white markings. She is what her foster mom calls a "tall" dachshund with longer legs than most, while still having the long, lean body most are familiar with. Her personality is unique, loving, and sweet like all dachshunds.
