Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Hello Friends!  My name is Hugo Cooper Ortega but I like to go by Cooper.  If you haven't already noticed, I am a stunning specimen of a Dachshund leaving me to be incredibly photogenic.  I'm what you call a dapple dachshund (very slightly dapple), which means I have a splotches all over my body.  It's what my foster Mommy says adds to my incredibly dapper looks.  When I first arrived to my foster home I was a bit hesitant and concerned but today I have the run of the house.  I share my home with three female dachshunds (aren't I the lucky guy) who pretty much ignore me.  I wasn't too thrilled about these "other" siblings but I put up with them (and my foster Daddy says I'm much better in my manners).  A normal day is to sleep on my back under the covers for as long as I can.  The pesky girl dogs wake me up to go outside and then eat breakfast.  At least they know I love food!  I'm home with the girls most of the day, but at night we have puppy playtime, where I run around the game room and play with my toys.  My Foster Mommy laughs at me but I have to believe she understands the seriousness of my playtime.  If I want to get her attention then I will talk to her in a cooing manner.  I do like to watch tv, but I don't like shows with animals.  I absolutely love people but I'm not so thrilled about other dogs, so it would be best if I was an only dog.  Well, I better go crawl under the covers.  Let my DRoH friends know if you want a cute, lovable, funny dog to join your family!  xoxo and GO STROS!   Cooper
