Hi! My name is Gilbert but you can call me Gilly. I never thought I'd end up on one of these adoption websites, but my foster mom told me I needed to put myself out there if I really want to meet someone special. If it works out, we can just tell our friends we met at the dog park! 

 

As far as looks go, I have a little white on my muzzle and paws but I think it makes me look distinguished and wise. My teeth are a little wonky, but that just gives my smile character. I have big soulful eyes that make me look sad, but I promise I'm a happy-go-lucky guy.  

 

Right now I live with my foster mom and her two lady dachshunds but I'm really looking to meet someone special and settle down.  I really like the ladies but they keep telling me they "just want to be friends." Mom says I am coming on too strong with them, but I'm a just really excited about everyone.  I'm pretty smart and I've been told I'm a good listener.    I'm working on my house and crate training. I will go in the crate with some gentle encouragement, but I really don't like being in there because I feel my best when I can see and be near someone. 

 

My perfect match will be someone who loves affection and cuddling.  Some people might call me "clingy," but I prefer the term "enthusiastic sidekick."  I will follow you everywhere you go, and I like to be right next to you whenever you settle on the sofa or the big bed. Sometimes I will even sit on your feet while you are standing. My favorite pastime is getting my belly rubbed and sleeping on my back with paws up.  If you like foot rubs I have good news, my guilty pleasure is rubbing your feet!
