Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Phil is a silly, playful puppy who loves to nap and run around the back yard.  He alternates between cuddling next to his human and stretching out on the far end of the sofa where he has more room.   At 7 months old, he is still learning but is eager to please and learns quickly.  He is working on his potty training and is making good progress. He is food motivated and is learning to sit and wait for his meals and for treats.

He is mostly kennel trained and treats his crate as "home base". He is quickly learning to go into his kennel on command. He loves to hoard things he finds in the house and will secretly drag all sorts of items into his kennel, including shoes, clothing, toys, towels, you name it.  He's a chewer, so you have to be quick to recover stolen items.   But he's super smart, so once you tell him not to chew something, he never touches it again! Except slippers. He just loves a good winter slipper. Those took a couple tries, but he's learned now. His foster thinks he just likes the process of finding and dragging them around more than the chewing.

He is slowly getting use to be left alone in his kennel though sometimes gets anxious and has an accident in his crate.  He likes to watch ESPN when alone.  At night, he sleeps in a kennel in the foster’s bedroom. He just likes to be in the same room as his human and feels better knowing he isn't alone.

When he gives you those cute puppy eyes and lays his head on your leg, you won't be able to resist him! He's sweet and loving and will crack you up with his playfulness!
