Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted. We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Andre is a sweet, loving dog who still has some of his puppy energy left. He loves to run around the back yard with dog buddies, playing tag and wrestling. Toys aren't his favorite, but he'll play along if the others are playing with them. His favorite way to spend the afternoon is sitting on the back of the sofa right in front of the window so he can spy on the neighbors and anyone walking by and let them know he's watching them. When he isn't being the neighborhood busybody, he loves to take lots of naps, especially while burrowing under the blanket and often while sleeping on his back. He is fully potty trained and crate trained. He stays in a crate when his foster mom is gone during the day and has learned how to go in on his own for a treat. At night, he used to sleep with his dog buddy in an open crate/bed in the bedroom. He's on his own right now, so he's still getting used to sleeping on his own. He likes to sneak into his foster mom's bed at 4am when she's too tired to say no. He's very affectionate and loves to cuddle up very close to his foster mom or on pillows at her feet when she works at home. His two favorite spots are on his back next to or between his foster mom's legs or on the back of the sofa, half sitting on his foster mom's shoulders.
He is very low maintenance and calm. He can be vocal at times, and you can definitely count on him to sound the alarm if someone approaches the house or if neighbors are in their yards. He is learning how to go on walks. He loves to walk and explore, but he prefers a quiet, solo walk with no bicycles, cars, skateboards runners or strollers. Sometimes he gets very scared by all those things flying past him, and frankly, he doesn't trust those stationary cars either when they get too close.
He is pretty reserved when meeting new people. He likes new dogs and warms up to the ladies over a day or so. He is still not sure about those men, though. He prefers to bark at them and run away. Although he will calm down pretty quickly, he prefers to keep his distance at first. He has spent very little time with men while in foster care, but with time and patience, he seems capable of overcoming this nervousness.
Andre is a wonderful, sweet dog who just wants to be loved and will definitely show you how much he loves you!
