Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Meet Pete Sampras. Pete is a 12 year old boy, but you wouldn't know it spending a day with him. He has the energy and focus of a dog a third his age. While Pete will happily occupy himself with patrolling the house, playing with his toys, or watching the neighborhood through the window, his absolute favorite thing is to lay across his people’s laps under a blanket. He has his perfect lap spot, and as soon as he gets a blanket over him he's out. Pete’s an amazing snuggler, and also loves to give kisses! He’s also a quick learner. He knows what time walks are, and as soon as he has his harness on he runs excited circles around the room until everyone’s ready at the door. He’s learned to sit before the door will open, and also to sit before he gets his meals. His foster parents have been feeding him using food toys, because he’s such a smart boy and picked up how to use them instantly! Pete is happy in his crate while people are away, but wants to be in on the action when people are around. He happily snuggles under the covers in bed all night. When he meets new people, he can be a little cautious and may bark at them at first. But he’s very confident and walks right up to the new person for petting.
