Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Maggie is an approximately 12 year old petite 11 pound female dachshund mix. ​ She happily finishes her 1/3 cup of kibble twice a day and isn’t a picky eater although I was surprised she doesn’t care for peanut butter which I use to hide pills for our other dog. ​ She is a good car rider. ​ Maggie likes men and wants to be near my husband until he goes to bed, sometimes asking to sit with him in his chair. ​ She does not require a cage as she ​ goes out in the backyard regularly to take care of potty needs and sleeps all night in her dog bed in our bedroom. ​ She and our other dachshund tolerate each other only occasionally snapping. Over all, Maggie is a very sweet affectionate dog and requires little extra care, fitting easily into our retiree household.
