Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Looking for a best friend? Carter is! Even though his vision's impaired, he can still tell a friend when he meets one. He loves to follow his foster parent around the house, just to stay close. Making dinner? He’ll stand by your side. Eating dinner? He’ll lay by your feet. Watching tv? He’s in your lap! Carter is a very sweet guy, he is very polite to his foster​ siblings (an almost six-year-old dachshund and a one-year-old dachshund), but definitely prefers the company of humans more. After all, he can get belly rubs from humans! He’s very mild mannered and even tempered. He seems to be easily adaptable to new situations. So, if you’re looking for a cuddle buddy, then fill out an application for Carter!
