Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Sandy Lynch is a young, sweet pup who seeks love and attention. She is cautious to new surroundings and people, but warms up, especially if you are patient and let her come to you. Sandy has a calm, happy disposition as long as she is near her humans. She has a gorgeous thick coat, in fact you might call her a “mini-sheepdog”. Sandy came from a hoarding situation and even at this young age has already been burdened by raising a family. Now those days of indifference are over and DROH is ready to help her find the loving family she deserves.

Sandy hates to be left alone and would do best in a home where humans are present most of the time. At night she sleeps in her crate with a bit of a protest, but sleeps solidly through the night (she has an adorable soft snore). Sandy has a good appetite and enjoys a bit of chicken on her food to whet her appetite. She likes high value treats (no milk bones for her) and is beginning to understand that she gets treats for doing her business outside.

She loves laying on the sofa with her humans as well as the cool floor floor after a walk. She likes short walks, but in the Houston heat who can blame her. It appears she’s never been walked and doesn’t quite get what the purpose is. She seems bemused by her foster brother’s marking and constant sniffing. When walking off leash in the backyard she stays right by you and will eventually do her business. Then it’s treat time!

Sandy is a very affectionate, beautiful pup and once she gets to know you she will make an outstanding companion. She does have some sight limitations but it doesn’t affect her at all. It might be the reason for her need to be nearby, but that makes her all the more adorable!
