Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted. We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Boss's owner passed away so DRoH stepped in to offer Boss a new home. Just as cute as can be - Boss is a handsome tan shorthair dachshund that needs a new best friend. He gets along very well with his two foster dog brothers. Boss spends a quiet night in his crate without any issues. He just warms your heart when he excitedly greets you first thing in the morning. Boss understands what the trip “Outside” means and has not had any accidents in the house. He is very eager to please and graciously walks with you on a leash. Boss follows you by smell and sound, because Boss is blind. His blindness doesn't slow him down one bit, matter of fact, most people can't tell he's blind. He listens intently for your verbal encouragement. Boss is very appreciative of all the cuddles that you are willing to share. He will be your couch companion and because he loves to be right with you - he will follow wherever you go. This is a very well mannered, intelligent dog who only needs a day or two to explore and successfully navigate a new environment. Boss has been neutered, microchipped, dental, rabies, all vaccinations and boosters, totally vetted and is patiently waiting to join a loving family.
