Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Meet Penelope, a shy yet endearing foster dog who dreams of nothing more than being by your side. With her soft brownish/red fur and soulful eyes, Penelope may initially seem reserved, but her true nature reveals a deep yearning for connection.

Now, in the comfort of her foster home, she’s slowly learning to trust and open up. While Penelope may still be nervous about getting too close to humans, she's making progress every day. She likes to keep a watchful eye on her foster humans, by following them around the house, peeking around corners, and cautiously curious about the world around her. Her favorite moments are those spent cuddled close, whether it's lounging on the couch or resting beside you in bed. When not on the couch cuddling, Penelope does like to go outside for walks to explore.

She is currently being fostered in a home with four dachshunds and two cats, so she’ll be a great young sister who can share her human(s) attention. She has adjusted to sleeping in a crate at nighttime and has not had any accidents in the house.

For those who understand the value of patience and tenderness, Penelope promises to be a devoted companion, eager to provide comfort and affection in return for your love.
