Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Hi there!! My name's Andy Taylor, but my foster family calls me Taylor. I'm such a smart boy - I learned my new name straight away! I know some basic commands like sit, no, outside and inside, and....get this.....I know I'm supposed to go potty outside! I'm proud to say I haven't had a single accident! My foster Mom says I'm a joy to have in the house. I'm not exactly sure what that means, but I think it's good, so I wiggle my butt and wag my tail whenever she says it! I'm happy all the time, and I mean ALL the time - life is just so good since I'm not in that scary shelter any more. I love my foster brothers and sisters and I love to run around the yard and have them chase me - I'm the fastest pup in the house!! The others have to cut corners just to keep up with me! I would definitely like a yard to run around in, and I have the potential to be a fabulous running buddy. I'm bigger than most dachshunds, but don't let that put you off! I'm strong and healthy and it just means I have even more love to give you! Even though I have lots of energy and love to play and have fun, I'm just as happy laying at your feet playing with my toys. I'm also a total snugglebug and just love cuddling with my foster parents and napping next to my foster Mom on the big bed (I'm such a lucky boy!).
