Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Apollo is a mini size red male dachshund who has been overfed until he tops the scales at 16 pounds. He's currently working on his waistline with super nutritious and low calorie dog food. He's very active and loves being in the backyard. He loves squeaky toys and prefers to carry them around constantly while searching for the perfect hiding spot! He gets along with other dogs. He sleeps quietly through the night in a crate. He rides like a dream in the car. He's short in stature and at 12 pounds, he will be a great mini size dog.

Update -
Apollo is pure entertainment.  He is confident and bold.  He would make a great "only".  His odd little body shape is an injustice to his personality.  All his pieces separately are dachshund, but when all together on his body, he looks more like a shaved corgi (a dorgi?).  He is truly a people pet.  Lots of charm and personality: sleeps on his back, tongue sticking out and loves to be part of all household activities.  His best trait - he's housebroken!  He'd also like you to know that he's already lost a pound and a half...
