Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Rusty is just about the sweetest and most lovable little guy that I've ever met! He likes to know where everyone is at all times, but I think that's just part of his adjustment to being in a new home.  He is a snuggler for sure and would be very happy resting in his bed with one of his toys or next to you on the couch. He'd be the happiest pup in the world if he was snuggled with you and a toy in your bed, but since we are trying to make his kennel feel like his home, we are primarily redirecting him there for right now.

He is easy going and affectionate. He likes to play with his 2 & 3 year-old foster brothers. He loves, loves, loves you and is happy to greet you in the morning or when you return home. Rusty has a  beautiful short haired red coat with a white chest. He's even got a few dapple indicators--you'll notices he has a few lightly colored splotches and a blue eye. He is an adorable dog that is ready to find his forever home.
Rusty has a great personality. He loves to play and nap (and then play and nap again) with his foster brothers. He also does well by himself and enjoys some individual time.  He cries for a couple minutes when someone leaves, but this has been improving as he gotten more comfortable with our routine. He would do great with or without other dogs and was definitely someone's beloved companion before finding DROH. Most nights he sleeps in his own smaller kennel, but we've also let all three doxies sleep in the larger kennel if they've put themselves to bed. He has clearly slept in his owner's bed before but will get down as soon as he’s told.

Rusty is a very easy dog to love and will be a welcomed addition to any home.
