Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Hi, my name is Patty Peppermint. I have a really soft Red Smooth Coat and long legs so folks think I might be part Chihuahua.. a Chiweenie, if you will. Oh, and I have a Red Nose, which I’ve heard is really uncommon and only two small breeds can pull off! I am a young, excitable and loving female. I was rescued after some pretty rough times though. I was hit by something, maybe a car, and it left some bruises and hurt my right legs a lot. Something bigger than me might have gotten in a bite too. My injuries are healing nicely thanks to the amazing people of DRoH. I am just now starting to get comfortable using my right legs again, so I am still a bit clumsy. The Vet says I don’t have any permanent damage so you'll have to bear with me while I heal up. I can now move really fast and I love to jump on the couch (I am slowly learning to use the doggy stairs) but I have trouble stopping so you should expect crash landings… I feel like Bambi on ice! I initially tried to protect my Foster Mom and Dad from everything but it turns out the other Doxies aren’t bad pups. In fact, after the first day I’m okay snuggling with them in a soft bed or even sharing a lap or two. I am still a bit nervous around strange noises and strange people but once I get to know you I really just want to snuggle and kiss and follow your feet everywhere!! Would you let me do that with you, Forever?
