Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Hello there, my name is Lazaro but you can call me Lars.  I am a 2 year old neutered black and tan dachshund and weigh approximately 17-18 pounds.  I love to play fetch with a tennis ball or rubber Kong with my humans when the weather is nice outside.  I have a lot of energy and sometimes my humans get tired of playing before I want to stop.  I also love to go on long walks and I am a good boy when my humans use a strong harness and leash to protect me.  Sometimes when I hear other dogs barking I bark back at them but I am usually a quiet boy.  When my humans are at work I am a good boy and like to rest under a window and soak up the sun.  I also enjoy playing with my 2 foster brothers but my humans have to make sure there are no soft toys around when I am home alone otherwise I can’t help myself and I rip them apart.  I am a very polite eater and never try to eat food that is not mine.  After a long day of playing I love to lay in my humans lap and snuggle and give kisses.  When it is my bedtime I sleep in a kennel that has lots of blankets so I can burrow under them.  I am in need of my forever home and would love to be a part of your family, do you think I would be a good fit?
