Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Benny is a young, active, intelligent, loving pup. He is healthy and can become a member of your family immediately. He is eager to learn new things and is doing amazing on his potty training. He's learned how and when to use the doggy door to take care of business. He LOVES to play with toys. My house is scattered with them all over the place. He'll spend about 30 seconds on a toy before moving to the next one. He is still doing a bit of mouthing and chewing, so providing lots of toys will help with that. He's also still like a puppy in that he uses his mouth to get attention or to play with you, but he's quickly learning that is not necessary. He's a great snuggler and will lay on the couch with you to watch TV (usually belly up, head on your shoulder). He's doing very well walking on a leash, but still occasionally gets tangled under foot. He is a bit taller than some dachshunds, but he is very lean, and has the most adorable unusual colored wiry coat. He is great around all humans - young & old and other dogs. He stays in a crate during the day and sleeps in his crate at night. This pup would be the perfect addition to a slightly more active family who doesn't mind playing with him and walking him regularly. If you just give him a little bit of mental and physical stimulation, he will be a calm submissive affectionate pup that will live a long and happy life.
