Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Sweet Violet is a red girl with a heart of gold. Everyone who spends time with her falls in love. She is a small dog with a big personality. She loves going on walks and having her belly scratched. She enjoys sunbathing in a sunny window or in the grass in the backyard. She thinks its great fun to "talk" to neighbor dogs and passersby through the fence. She loves cuddling on the couch with her foster family. Violet doesn't know how to play with toys yet, but eagerly watches her foster dog brother chase his stuffed monkey and will sometimes join the chase with him. If you sit on the floor with her, Violet will crawl all over you in her own playful style. She loves petting and if you stop before she's ready, she will gently put her head under your hand and ask for more. Violet is a true people dog and loves all the foster family members, but she gets along great with her foster dog brother, too. She often joins him for naptime on his bed even though she has her own. Violet is a little unsure when meeting new people or dogs. She will bark and growl as a defense mechanism, but if you look closely, you will see she's wagging her tail at the same time, hoping the new stranger will be a friend. Violet doesn't have any food aggression issues, has never had a potty accident indoors, and does great in her crate. She's an awesome girl and will be a wonderful addition for the lucky family that adopts her.
