Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted. We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

In the few short days I’ve had Perry by my side, I have truly seen the appropriateness of his last name. Perry is a “good boy” by every meaning of those words. His kind and gentle disposition make him ideal for any home in his future. When he was able to come home from his initial vetting, he walked like a champ on the leash and was eager to do his business outside. He’s working hard on house training. This training is easily taken care of by frequent restroom breaks outside, supervision indoors, and his cool appreciation of being indoors even if it’s in an exercise pen. In true dachshund fashion, he loves to burrow in his bed. He loves food and is eager for a treat when offered one. He’s sat on command once and is working on controlling his gentle conversations of excitement as you prepare his dinner. He’s a grateful pup, he gives you a kiss when you get home and does well while you’re gone.
