Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Meet Mikela – A Shy Sweetheart Ready to Blossom

Hi, I’m Mikela — though my foster family lovingly calls me “Precious,” and I’m starting to believe it! I’m a gentle, timid soul who’s learning to trust and love again after a rough start in life. Every day, I grow a little more confident, thanks to the patience and kindness of my foster family.

I’m eager to please and very food motivated, which makes me a quick learner. I’m working hard on my house-training and doing great with the support of my foster family. I absolutely love going for walks and am a dream on a leash — it’s one of my favorite ways to explore the world around me.

I get along wonderfully with my four-legged foster siblings and adore snuggling up with them — and my humans — on the couch. At just 14 pounds, I’m the perfect little cuddle bug.

I came from a shelter, and while my coat is still healing, I’m getting healthier and shinier every day. With a little love and care, I’ll be as beautiful on the outside as I am on the inside.

What I’m really hoping for is a forever home filled with love, patience, and cozy spots to snuggle. Could that be with you?
