Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Aster is a distinguished older gentleman, as his name implies.​ He loves to run around the backyard exploring but prefers his human to be outside with him.​ Aster is a champion stuffie killer, like most dachshunds.​ He's quiet most of the time but will belt out the 'song of his people' when he deems it necessary. He would prefer to sleep in the big bed, but will settle down fairly quickly in his bed if the bedroom door is closed.​ Otherwise he will run back and forth for quite some time trying to get your attention.​ ​ He takes a little time being comfortable in a crate when in a new environment,​ but once he does he's a champ.​ This loving little man is eagerly awaiting his furever family to love and snuggle with.
