Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Handsome guy!

Meet Jay Jay (J.J.), the best pup around! If you're looking for a super sweet and mellow dog to add to your family, look no further! J.J. is leash trained and does amazingly on walks with minimal roaming, he enjoys staying right next to you the whole walk. He is also kennel trained and will happily stay in his kennel in his foster parents' room all through the night, although he will complain a little at first just in case you'll cave and let him sleep in bed, where he'd much rather be! He rarely barks (even whether his fur brother encourages it), plays well with his foster dachshund brother, enjoys chasing after squirrels, likes plush toys and hard bones, and loves to play fetch (for a few throws, at least). J.J. hasn't had the chance to be around cats or kids in his foster home, so we're not entirely sure how he would do with either. J.J. is learning that sit = please and that he has to sit before he can get his meals or go for a walk, but he also does the cutest little dance as well to try to get his way. Although he likes playing and going for a couple walks a day, J.J. is also happy to calmly sit next to you while you work or sit in your lap on the couch for screen time. Please apply today to add J.J. to your family!
