Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Lady Maya is the sweetest, prettiest, and most loving dachshund! She will follow you around all day and wants to be wherever you are. Though she prefers to cuddle up against you, she will quietly lie beside you on the ground as well. She also enjoys walks and sunbathing in the backyard. She is an overall low-energy dog and is very obedient and intelligent, understanding basic phrases like "no," "c'mon," and "stay" and quickly picking up new commands. We are currently working on her weight loss and separation anxiety, and she's made good progress already! She will need to be introduced slowly and calmly to new dogs and people, as she can be protective of her loved ones, but in the right settings we believe that she will get along well with most animals and people.
