Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

We're so excited to tell you about sweet, little Boon! And little he is, at less than 8 pounds. His foster mom would describe him as a velcro dog that knows to not be underfoot (i.e. perfect) and his foster dad would describe him as the absolute best houseguest.

Boon can be a little timid to start with new people, but is always friendly. He loves to go on walks, and keeps up with his fast foster fur sister the whole time. Boon likes to let people and other dogs know he is coming but has always been friendly to dogs that introduce themselves to him. He's gone to a bigger event with a lot of activity (music playing, people around, inside and outside of a store) and he was literally the perfect pup. He happily hung out in his foster mom's "kangaroo pouch" sweatshirt or walked on a leash with no problem, and met some new people who he let pet and love on him.

His personality has started to come out while he's been with his fosters, and he enjoys playing some with both his foster parents and foster fur siblings. He will happily grab a stuffed toy to run around the house with or play tug-of-war with both people and dogs. His favorite activity though is sitting on the couch, preferably against his foster mom with a blanket over both of them.

Boon had some teeth pulled when he first came into the rescue. While he's completely healed from his dental ordeal (and doesn't even have an obvious scar!) he does still like his dry kibble softened with a little water. The best time of day is definitely mealtime, and he'll make little circles of excitement until his kibble is put down. And even though food is one of his favorite things, he's very polite and doesn't try to steal his foster fur siblings' food when they're slower at eating.

He's been completely potty trained with his foster parents, and seems to take his cues from his foster fur siblings about where he can potty.

Boon isn't a huge fan of being in his kennel when his foster parents need to leave the house, but doesn't take long to calm down if they've left the house. He has done well not being kenneled at times when his foster parents have decided to test him, complaining some when they leave, but patiently waiting in his pile of blankets on the couch when they return. He is happiest sleeping in the big bed with his foster parents at night, and quickly burrows under the covers and falls asleep when it's bedtime.

Overall Boon is a teeny guy with a big personality, and while it seems like he had a little bit of a rough time before he found his way to DROH, he is now ready for his next adventure!
