Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Trixie is the cutest, cuddliest, fuzziest doxie I've ever seen.

Trixie's official background is not fully known. When she first came to us she had a lot to learn about living in a home. In spite of her past, This dog LOVES her humans - once she gets to know them. She is happy to follow the rules, especially if she gets pets and hugs and belly rubs for doing what she's told.

Trixie is living with some fellow DROH dogs right now. She is learning to play and share toys for the first time. But In an ideal world, Trixie would be the 'queen bee' getting all her human's attention for herself. She's timid at first and will probably take a bit of time to warm up to a new family, but once she relaxes, she'll never leave your side. Because of this, Trixie would do best in a home with older people and older children who understand the patience that will be required to give Trixie until she feels safe and secure in her new home.

She is curious when she's outside and likes walking to explore all the squirrels and birds this world has to offer, so keeping her on a harness ensures her curiosity doesn't get the best of her or you.

When her humans are away, Trixie feels safest in a crate. She now knows that when her humans are gone they always come back, and this makes her so happy. She sleeps in her crate at night just fine, especially if you are in the same room.

If you want an intelligent, young, eager, loving, lazy dog, then this girl is for you. Won't you please consider adopting her and giving her the glorious life of a dog living in a happy, animal friendly home - something she should have known from the start.
