Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Jason, or Jase as we sometimes say, is an instant best friend forever! He likes to be wherever you are, and whether that is lying at your feet while you're working at the computer or snuggled next to you on the couch, he is happy either way! He is an easy going and affectionate dog. He loves to get pets and will remind you if you stop mid-pet by snuggling closer to your hand. He is calmer than his 1.5 and 2.5 year old dachshund foster brothers and is mostly cool and laid back like an adult dog. He loves to see you! He is happy to greet you in the morning or when you return home. Tiny 8 pound Jase has a beautiful short haired tan coat with white chest and two "white sock" front paws. Since he is a smaller dog AND loves you so much, he will try to follow you whenever he can find a way. He has been able to squeeze between our porch rails to follow us to the driveway a couple times, but a little lattice or tighter fense has worked ever since then. He is an adorable dog and has melted our hearts already.

Jason has a great temperament. He loves to play and nap with his foster brothers most of the time, but he also does well by himself and is happy to watch the others play when he's comfortably resting.   He doesn’t bark much, even when his foster brothers are being loud but cries for a couple minutes when someone leaves. He would do great with or without other dogs and was definitely someone's loved companion before finding DROH. He is kennel trained and sleeps through the night like a champ. Most nights he sleeps in his own small kennel but we've also found that all three put themselves in the larger kennel and let him sleep there a few nights too. He has clearly slept in the bed before but is unable to jump in on his own and gets down as soon if he’s told. He did great during bath time and would be ecstatic to clean your floors for you too!

Jase is a very easy dog to keep  and will be a welcomed addition to any home.
