Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Hello, I'm Doug Palmer and I am the classic red dachshund. I am fully vetted and I am ready to find my forever home. I am very quiet, and very laid back around humans and other dogs. I don't even mind little humans as long as they are gentle! I'm not very food oriented but occasionally I find a specific treat that strikes my fancy. I would really love to spend my evenings sitting on the couch watching HGTV with you, but if you need me to, I can go out in the backyard and talk smack with the squirrels. 
I travel well in the car. I'm sometimes a bit timid when I meet new people but it doesn't take long for me to warm up to kind folks! I love naps, when I'm wrapped up in a fluffy blanket! If you're not available to assist with said wrapping, I can do it myself!
If you're looking for a recliner dog that's way past that chewing puppy stage, I'm your man! Can't wait to meet you!
