Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Thomasine and I were sitting outside this afternoon and we were talking about her Forever Home. We both think she'd do great in a family with a couple of kids. Thomasine thinks a boy and girl about 7-10 yrs old would be fabulous. Thomasine, or "Sweetie" as we call her, is pretty good on leash and would love to go on walks around the neighborhood with her kids. She'd also love a house with enough yard for the kids to throw a tennis ball or frisbee. She'll continue working with them to get better at 'fetch'. She told me she wouldn't mind an apartment home, because she never barks to bother the neighbors. She'd also love it if her mom and dad would let her take turns sleeping with each of the kids. If the new family had another dog, that would be great, but not mandatory.  If her family took long road trips, she'd love to join them. Sweetie is a great car rider! I think it would be great if Sweetie had some time after the kids went to bed to curl up on the couch with Mom or Dad to nap in the glow of the tv. Sweetie would love it if her family were home with her everyday, but she's great with being quiet and just napping the day away while everyone is at work or school. Even the kids can feed Sweetie, she very gentle taking treats and will 'sit' on command before meals, going outside or at treat time. She's very smart and listens to her family. She's still young enough to play like a puppy though. But without all that chewing and housetraining that most puppies deal with.
