Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Gretchen is hands down one of the most beautiful and sweet dachshunds I have ever had the privilege of fostering. She is happy-go-lucky big girl who loves to play. She gives kisses on command (she knows 'gimmie a kiss!') and knows where to do her business. She took less than a day to figure out where the potty spot is! She is still learning how to be good on a leash - she wants to explore so badly that she pulls a lot, but we are working on that. She likes men and women alike, and would love a home where she can get plenty of exercise. She uses the doggie door in my home like a pro. She doesn't quite like the kennel, but she will settle down in there if you bribe her with puppy cookies. She gets along with my dogs very well (I have a 3 year old pup, and two 9 year olds), and even got my older female, Pickles, to play with her a bit last night. She has already charmed her way into our hearts, and we know you will fall in love with her as quickly as we did!
