Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Hey Everybody! I'm thrilled to be a DRoH dog now.  I'm super excited to move to my new foster home and start living the 'good' life! 

My first day in a foster home was a pretty good success - or at least that's what the foster mom said.  I ate my dinner graciously and didn't argue with the other dachshunds in the house about toys or anything.  I have a crate that the foster wanted me to sleep in - it had a soft pillow and after letting them know it really wasn't my preference (for a minute or two), I fell fast asleep and didn't make a peep all night.  The foster mom left this morning for some reason and she put me in the wire pen that was large.  I curled up on the soft bed and after letting her know that I really preferred her lap - I took a nap quietly.

I'm a standard size boy and weigh 19 pounds. I'm still pretty playful according to the foster mom - she keeps throwing toys away from me and I keep going and picking them up for her.  Apparently, this is great fun for her :/

I'm super healthy and ready to get settled into my Forever Home.  I've not really ever had one of those and my foster mom keeps telling me how fabulous they are!  So if your available and you like dachshunds, maybe we should meet?
