Her determined foster mom couldn't overcome Lila's lengthy list of health issues.  We honor her kindness and love that gave this sweet miss a peaceful forever home, however brief it turned out to be.

We lost our little old man last night.  Ceasar joined DRoH for only a short part of his life, but his foster dad made sure it was his best possible home.  We all wish he could have been with us longer to relish the warmth of a comfortable place to be, but he was happy and safe in his final days.  RIP good buddy!

To Henry's foster mom: Henry passed away today and I wanted to let you know, as you were his fabulous foster mom, the one who answered my million questions leading up to and after we were able to finally let Henry call our place home. We loved him and spoiled him as much as we possibly could. I feel that his last part of his life with us was 10 times better than whatever life he led before he came into our lives.  We are sad of course, but forever grateful to Dachshund Rescue of Houston for matching us with our perfect Doxie, and to you and your family for loving Nathan/Henry until he entered our hearts. We truly loved the quirky little boy we called Henry for six years! ❤️

Evie came to DRoH in terrible shape.  She was severely diabetic, along with many other issues.  She landed with the perfect foster, who became her angel.  Her foster mom so fondly reports: "She was happy here and loved to climb on me and give me kisses.  I’m glad I was able to make the short time I had her good for her.  She got to do and experience a lot in her short time here.  I know she loved me."  RIP sweet Miss Evie.  You know you were loved.
