![]() Piper Rose, Our guardian angel, This little angel came to us when she was needed the most. She came to us as a little dog in need of help for a forever home.We do not know the exact circumstances that lead her to be a dog in need of a loving forever home nor did we know what her life was like before she came to us, however, she was in need of a loving home and LOTS of love. We fell in love with her at first sight!. She filled our hearts with joy and happiness immediately .Taking care of her needs was not an issue and we did it with love. By taking care of her we were able to slowly ease the pain of the loss of our other little Dachshund girls that left us hours apart from each other. Even though she came to us as an angel with broken wings, we helped her heal her wings while she healed the wounds in our hearts. As time passed and all of us healed, it came the time for her to say goodbye, spread her wings, and fly. Soar through the sky over the rainbow bridge with a brand new pair of wings! Free of pain and suffering where she will play happily through the fields of fresh grass with all her friends and her two sisters before her. Thank you for taking care of us and healing our hearts, our little angel sent from Heaven! Rescued 2/14/22 Adopted 7/16/22 Rainbow Bridge 1/3/24
![]() On December 7, 2023, we said goodbye to the best dog ever! Our Sophie lived for 18.7 years. We adopted an adorable 2+ year old from the Dachshund Rescue Of Houston on 5-6-07 and were able to love her for 16+ years. Oh, what joy she brought to our family. She is now able to see after all the squirrels she wants to chase and hear all the other dogs barking as she runs across the Rainbow Bridge. We are heartbroken and will miss her terribly. We want to thank DROH for allowing us to adopt her all of those years ago. She truly was the BEST! ![]() My husband and I adopted Lily back in January 2019, when she was eight years old as an owner surrender. She was amazing dog in a perfect fit for me and my husband fell in love with her right away. We are sorry to let you know that she passed over the rainbow bridge today unexpectedly due heart disease. We had her for amazing years and it was the best experience. She truly made every day better coming home to her greeting us at the door. We truly appreciate y’all bringing her into our lives, and we are gonna miss her dearly. Thank you again for all you do for the dachshunds in the Houston area ![]() Had to say good-by to my Leo Saturday, with his back Issues and newly found cancer, he was in pain all the time. His vet and team stayed and said good by after they closed because they all had got to know him so well due to his very frequent trips to the vet. They were like one of his family. ![]() Boozy joined our family November 2019 and how incredibly lucky we feel to have had him. The devastation we feel today is beyond words. He had been struggling, though happily, with congestive heart failure for the last year and a half. He was the most unique and wonderful boy. Thank you for bringing him into our lives. Rescued 9/13/19 Adopted 11/22/19 Rainbow Bridge 3/30/24.
