Patti Garnet

Patti is at rest.  She was unable to stand on her own and very weak but we did give her a good breakfast of grilled steak. Which she did eat. Took her to the park and carried her out on the walking trails so she could see the ducks. A pupochino from Starbucks and a drive by the lake. She was ready. Thanks for the opportunity to know and love on Patti. She may not have gotten a forever home but she was loved dearly by me! I'm glad I could be with her today.                                                                        Thank you for being her forever.
Your compassion and kindness gave her a beautiful life for the days spent with you. We are honored and thankful for your love of these fosters. Patti, for one, could not ask for more.                                                               RIP Miss Patti.  Rescued 1/19/22. Rainbow Bridge 9/12/22

Laylah aka Pebbles

My dearest Laylah,
About an hour ago, I said goodbye to your baby girl face. To say I miss you is just not enough. It doesn't express the amount of love and preciousness you are to me. My first baby. I will never forget the first time I saw your beautiful little wiggly face and butt. Running at me from your foster mom's house. Those ears could not even keep up with you. I gave you some chicken nuggets and you promptly threw them up in my backseat. You never were able to eat human food :). Except carrots. You enjoy carrots.
Anyway, I saw your energy, I saw your love, and I saw your tenacious little spirit and I knew we were going to be BFF for life. And we are! First you slept in my bed and those were some of the sweetest times. Such a burrower you are. You just love to be down underneath the covers. And we went for lots of runs and you always kept up. Man you were a strong sweet girl. So much energy. You loved everyone you met (except dudes for a little bit). But you loved Unco and Dade (Bepaw). And even some of the early ponies-Court Jackson. You loved to sleep between their legs. Remember? You did that with Daddy too.
When Daddy came into the picture, you met him with that same wiggly enthusiasm. I knew that meant it was right.  We went for roller blades and walks together. Took you to Dallas with us (you hated that). But everyone you met, you just had so much snuffly wiggly energy. Anxious girl. And then you were there
for the moves. From our apartment, to our house on Dunbar, to the house on Briar Hill, to the house at Cheshire. You always loved to sniff every corner and make it your own. You were there for the pregnancies. Snuggling up to me on the yoga mat. Trying to sleep right next to my belly! Always trying to be in my skin. And when we brought each boy home, you greeted them with that same wiggly enthusiasm. Thank you for
being such a happy beautiful girl aways. So snuggly. You loved blankets and burrowing and being close to Grammie in her lap, preferably.
In those final years, you were there Laylah. It was hard in those last years because I was scared, but you were always there. You made me feel so safe. Always so safe. Always so loved. There for such incredible milestones in my life. You were and are so cherished and loved and will be forever. I hope you know
that. I think i told you. But Im telling you again. In the end, you slept with me as I wrote the first pages of my dissertation and were my constant companion. I'm so grateful to you sweet girl. I know you are at peace. I know you will always be outside with us wanting to go in and out in and out.
I love you baby girl. Thank you for everything.
-Love, Mommy.

Poochie Crisp

We lost sweet Poochie yesterday.  He came to us heavily infested with heartworm disease.  We could not save him, but don't allow your dear pets to suffer the same fate.  A simple monthly preventative is all it takes.  Be a conscientious pet parent.

Nakia Wakanda

Little Miss Nakia could not pull through the harshness of life on the street and neglect of her former humans. Her foster mom struggled for weeks to support her health and revitalize her broken body.  Unfortunately, sometimes no matter how hard we want to win, euthanasia is the kindest option to let a pup be at peace.  It hurts today, but her foster family can take comfort that she knew that all humans did not failed her.                RIP sweet Nakia.
